Fewer and fewer people are paying with cash today. Shopping on-site must work quickly, easily, and globally – and preferably with one's own smartphone. This is demonstrated by the IGEM-Digimonitor 2023, the annual study by the Interest Group for Electronic Media Switzerland: According to this, 64 percent of the Swiss population uses mobile payment services such as TWINT, Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, or Google Pay.

To make this trend accessible for all types of businesses, the Thun-based start-up Payrexx has developed a new payment solution via QR code - Payrexx QR Pay. The basic principle is similar to that of TWINT: QR codes can be individually created by the merchants and offered to customers for payment. However, Payrexx significantly expands this familiar and popular payment process. Payrexx's QR codes can not only be scanned via the TWINT app but also directly with the smartphone's camera.

This offers two decisive advantages. First, no app is needed anymore, so the QR codes can be used by anyone – including guests from abroad.
