Take for example the local football club: The club tournament is around the corner, the table is set, and all the volunteers are ready. A refreshment stand is to cater to the players and visitors, the drinks, fryers, and cakes are already organized. Now all that's missing is a simple way to collect payments.
Rather than relying on cash, registering with TWINT, or even buying an expensive terminal, the club opts for the simple yet comprehensive solution – Payrexx. Or more precisely: For Payrexx Tap to Pay.
What exactly is Payrexx Tap to Pay?
The Swiss payment provider from Thun has specialized in the needs of SMEs, clubs, start-ups, and non-profit organizations and knows: It must be uncomplicated, user-friendly, and cost-effective. This is where the newly developed product “Tap to Pay” comes into play.
The SoftPOS technology, short for “Software Point of Sale”, allows Comerciantes to accept payments directly via their smartphones. With the Android application, anyone can easily collect payments on-site, directly through their own device without cumbersome registration processes or expensive technology. Mobile, flexible, and modern.
Here's how it works:
All incoming transactions are clearly collected in the Payrexx account of the football club, so the cashier or treasurer later has a clear overview of all received amounts. And once the tournament is over, Payrexx's use cases don't stop: The club can also handle membership fees, trial trainings, crowdfunding, or jersey sales directly through Payrexx's various products.
Payrexx Tap to Pay is, of course, not only suitable for the example football club. The application has been developed so that a variety of use cases are conceivable. Whether it's a fitness center, swimming pool, kiosk, food truck, hairdresser, florist, cleaning staff, craftsman, dentist, taxi driver, street artist, or music societies: Wherever the phone has internet reception, Tap to Pay can be used to receive payments.
What is the new product aiming to achieve?
For Payrexx, Tap to Pay is a milestone on the path from a pure e-commerce provider to an omnichannel provider. While the company from Thun has so far focused mainly on online Comerciantes, Tap to Pay is now the first product to specifically target in-store commerce. Thus, Payrexx is opening up a new target group – consisting of small Comerciantes, associations, non-profit organizations, or clubs that Payrexx wants to support in receiving payments on-site.
While international and publicly traded payment providers focus on large, high-revenue businesses and often offer poor conditions to smaller ones, Payrexx is committed to exactly these. As a start-up in Thun itself, Payrexx knows exactly the challenges of SMEs. Accordingly, Payrexx's vision is: Everyone should be able to trade – regardless of their experience or financial possibilities.
This attitude is ultimately reflected in the costs. As these can be crucial for small Comerciantes, they were deliberately kept as low as possible with Payrexx Tap to Pay. Both the Payrexx account and the application can be acquired for free. With transaction costs of 1.65% + 0.15 EUR, Payrexx can not only compete with the competition but also sometimes undercut them.
Payrexx Tap to Pay is still only available for Android devices since Apple only released the NFC technology for Swiss applications this year. Payrexx is working hard to bring Tap to Pay to iPhones and iPads as soon as possible.
