Michael Müller is currently a partner at eQventure, Austria's largest private equity firm for start-ups, alongside his role as a board member at Payrexx. The company offers consulting in corporate and organizational development for young companies. He has a profound connection to the payment industry through numerous advisory roles and investment projects in the DACH region for over 25 years.

After studying business economics, Michael Müller worked for several years in Switzerland at UBS in Corporate Finance. From 2000 to 2014, he was co-founder and CEO of paysafecard in Vienna, the world's largest provider of prepaid payments on the Internet.

Michael has extensive experience in the internationalization and scaling of financial institutions and knows the international payment market from the ground up. We are glad we were able to bring such an experienced strategist on board.

Payrexx was founded in 2015 in Thun and specializes as a payment institution in processing digital payment methods. The Swiss company operates a self-developed payment platform as a registered Payment Facilitator for Mastercard and VISA. Over 40,000 customers process their payments across Europe via the cloud-based platform. The range includes regionally strong companies such as BKW, Swiss Youth Hostels, and Swissmilk, as well as large corporations like SBB, Swiss Post, and Swisscom.

The platform integrates over 40 payment providers and more than 200 payment methods and currencies from around the world through a single interface. Payrexx is the only provider in Switzerland that offers payment methods such as TWINT, PostFinance, Mastercard, VISA, Samsung Pay, Google Pay, and Apple Pay from a single source with an acceptance contract.

In a representative online merchant survey conducted by the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) and the Management Center Innsbruck (MCI), it was determined which Payment Service Providers (PSP) the participating respondents use for processing online transactions. As a result of evaluating the information from all Swiss merchants, it was found that 25% of all online shops choose and trust Payrexx as their PSP. This makes Payrexx the second most popular payment provider among Swiss online merchants.
