It is still quiet in the Tellspielarena in Matten near Interlaken. A few visitors stroll between market stalls and tables, waiting for their behind-the-scenes tour to begin. In the gastro area, preparations are being made for the approaching rush of visitors. Everything must be ready when "Wilhelm Tell" makes his big appearance on stage and, in probably the most famous scene, shoots the apple from his boy's head.
"The majority of theater-goers only appear shortly before the start of the performance," reveals Franziska Werner. She is the one who does the balancing at the end of the evening and checks the transactions the next day. "Then everything has to be correct and run reliably." It is precisely in moments like these that you can rely on the evaluations from the Payrexx card terminals.
Learnings from the pilot phase
Before Payrexx launched the new Kartenlesegeräte on the market in October 2025, they went through an extensive pilot phase with selected Comerciantes. This also included the Tellspiele Interlaken. Apparently, the cooperation was convincing, because two years later, the Payrexx payment devices are still in use at various locations on the site.
Nevertheless, some important insights were gained during the trial year, recalls Franziska Werner. "First, we had to turn off receipt printing – the amount of paper rolls used was simply too large!" What did work very well from the start, however, was the operation: "The Payrexx devices are very intuitive and easy to use. Really everyone got the hang of it straight away."

"The amount is typed in, the customer pays, and we can already see the booking in the system the next day," Werner explains. The payout from Payrexx to the Tellspiele, in turn, takes place regularly once a week.
