Noian's Path to Independence

An example of the sustainable work of Women's Hope International is the story of Noian from Bangladesh. Five years ago, she participated in a project against child marriage and received a goat to promote her financial independence.

Today, Noian has her own herd of goats with 20 animals and can finance not only her education but also that of her siblings with the proceeds. Her dream is to become a doctor. "This example shows how even small support can make a big difference," says Selina Leu.

Challenges and Opportunities in Fundraising

The organization reaches its supporters primarily through traditional channels like fundraising letters and its in-house magazine “Weitwinkel”, in which it places its projects in a broader context. Yet, digital pathways also play an increasingly important role, reports Selina Leu: “We are working on a new website and see a growing share of digital donations.”

At the same time, digital transformation brings new challenges. As a smaller organization with limited resources, it's difficult to keep up with big players. However, instead of relying on expensive solutions, the organization focuses on creative approaches: “We can't afford expensive agency solutions — but we can look at how the big ones do it and try to get the best out of it with targeted effort and passion.”
