Paysafecard founder Michael Müller becomes a new member of the Payrexx Board of Directors
Thun, January 26, 2023, The Swiss payment service provider for SMEs Payrexx has made an addition to its Board of Directors. The current members have officially appointed Michael Müller as a new member of the Board of Directors as of December 2, 2022.
In addition to his work as a board member at Payrexx, Michael Müller is currently a partner at eQventure, Austria's largest investment company for start-ups. This company offers consulting services for the corporate and organizational development of start-ups. He has a profound connection to the payment industry through several advisory board mandates and investment projects in the DACH region for over 25 years.
After studying business administration, Michael Müller worked in corporate finance at UBS in Switzerland for several years. From 2000 to 2014, he was co-founder and CEO of paysafecard in Vienna, the world's largest provider of prepaid payments on the internet.
Michael has many years of experience in the internationalization and scaling of financial institutions and knows the international payment market from the ground up. We are delighted to have been able to bring such an experienced strategist on board.

Michael Müller is the father of two teenage children. Born in Austria, he lives near Vienna. In his free time, the 50-year-old enjoys being outdoors, traveling, visiting exhibitions on various topics or spending time with friends.

Payrexx was founded in Thun in 2015 and is a payment institution specializing in the processing of digital payment methods. As a registered payment facilitator for Mastercard and VISA, the Swiss company operates a self-developed payment platform. Over 40,000 customers across Europe process their payment transactions via the cloud-based platform. These range from regionally strong companies such as BKW, Swiss Youth Hostels and Swissmilk to large corporations such as SBB, Swiss Post and Swisscom.
The platform combines over 40 payment providers and more than 200 payment methods and currencies from all over the world via a single interface. In a representative online merchant survey conducted by the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) and the Management Center Innsbruck (MCI), it was determined which payment service providers (PSP) the participating respondents use to process online transactions. Based on the evaluation of the data from all Swiss merchants, it was found that 25% of all online stores choose and trust Payrexx as their PSP. This makes Payrexx the second most popular payment provider among Swiss online merchants. This ranking makes it clear that Payrexx meets the needs and requirements that Swiss SMEs have and place on a payment provider to their complete satisfaction, both with its offering and with its approach to work and communication.
