Fewer and fewer people pay with cash today. Shopping on-site must work quickly, effortlessly, and globally – and preferably with their own smartphone. This is shown by the IGEM-Digimonitor 2023, the annual study by the Interest Group for Electronic Media in Switzerland: according to this, 64 percent of the Swiss population use mobile payment services like TWINT, Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, or Google Pay.

To make this trend accessible to all types of businesses, the Thuner start-up Payrexx has developed a new payment solution via QR code – Payrexx QR Pay. The basic principle is similar to that of TWINT: QR codes can be individually created by the Comerciante and offered to customers for payment. However, Payrexx significantly extends this familiar and popular payment process. Payrexx's QR codes can not only be scanned via the TWINT app but also directly with the smartphone camera.

This offers two crucial advantages. Firstly, no app is needed, so the QR codes can be used by anyone – even by guests from abroad. Payrexx thus offers the ideal solution for organisations with international customers. Secondly, one gains access to a variety of payment methods via Payrexx's QR codes. Customers can choose whether they want to pay via credit or debit card, with a mobile payment provider like Apple Pay or Samsung Pay, or with international payment methods like Alipay, WeChat Pay, or giropay.

New: Free Stickers and Table Stands

Payrexx QR Pay is already used by many different companies throughout Switzerland. Particularly shops that rely on self-service, i.e., do not have staff on-site, enjoy the simplicity and autonomy of the QR codes. To further simplify the everyday life of the Comerciante, Payrexx has made the creation and application of QR codes even easier – so that not even a printer is needed anymore.

After the Comerciante has created their QR code, they can have it sent for free as a sticker or table stand by post. The design can be customised, the stickers are weatherproof and adhere to all common materials. The table stands, on the other hand, are ideal for spontaneous or mobile projects, such as concerts, club events, pop-ups, or farm shops.
