What is Tap to Pay?
Tap to Pay, also known as SoftPOS, is a technology that allows Swiss merchants to use their smartphones as a card reader. This way, they can accept payments without additional hardware.
Which mobile payments can I accept with Tap to Pay?
Tap to Pay is an app that is installed on the mobile phone. Merchants can accept contactless payments via credit and debit cards (Visa and Mastercard), TWINT or using mobile wallets like Apple Pay, Google Pay or Samsung Pay.
Thus, the smartphone becomes a Lector de tarjetas.
Note: Please note that Payrexx Tap to Pay is currently only available for merchants based in Switzerland.
How do my customers pay with Payrexx Tap to Pay?
The payment process with Payrexx Tap to Pay includes the following steps:
Select the desired payment method (card or TWINT).
Enter the amount to be paid.
Your customers can now either hold their card to your smartphone, open the mobile wallet and hold their phone to yours, or scan the displayed TWINT code within their TWINT app.
Done! The transaction is completed and the amount will be transferred to your Payrexx account within 48 hours.

With which devices does Payrexx Tap to Pay work?
The app works on all phones that meet the following requirements:
Android operating system, version 8.1 or higher
NFC compatibility
Google Mobile Service
TEE in a SoC (Trusted Execution Environment in a System on a Chip)
Internet connection
Most of these points are met by all modern, common smartphones. As long as you download Payrexx Tap to Pay via the Google Play Store and your phone is not modified or the developer options are not enabled, the app should work without issues.

Can I install Payrexx Tap to Pay on my iPhone?
No, unfortunately not.
This is not due to Payrexx, but Apple: The company has not yet released the payment technology in its smartphones for Switzerland. As soon as Apple takes this step, Payrexx Tap to Pay will also be available for all iPhones.
What other functions does Payrexx Tap to Pay offer?
Payrexx Tap to Pay is intended to enable you to receive payments as comfortably as possible without additional technology. The following features are included in the app:

How much does Tap to Pay cost and are there any hidden fees?
The app can be downloaded for free in the Google Play Store or directly via your Payrexx account.
In addition to the monthly costs for your Payrexx account, the following transaction fees apply:
1.65% + 0.15 EUR
for domestic payments.
A monthly fee of 4 EUR is also charged for each additional active Android device.

Is there a free trial period?
Yes! You can test Tap to Pay from Payrexx for free for 30 days.
After that, you have a choice: Either you opt for a paid subscription to reduce transaction costs, or you automatically switch to the free subscription. As there are no costs involved, you don't have to worry about a subscription trap.
