Payrexx is the most used Payment Service Provider for the first time in 2025
In 2025, Payrexx is the most used Payment Service Provider (PSP) in Swiss e-commerce for the first time. Payrexx stands out particularly for its user-friendly all-in-one platform, which combines online and POS payments in one solution. Many SMEs appreciate the easy integration, the wide range of supported payment methods, and the transparent pricing structure.

Payrexx as the most popular Payment Service Provider
Payrexx emerged as the most popular Payment Service Provider (PSP) among Swiss SMEs in the online merchant survey as early as 2023, surpassing PayPal, Saferpay, and PostFinance. The steadily growing market share and significant growth rate demonstrate that Payrexx meets the requirements that Swiss SMEs have for a payment provider with its offer.
Focus Switzerland
A total of 643 online shops took part in the online Händler survey 2025. The clear focus was on the Swiss market: 91 percent of the participants came from Switzerland, supplemented by four percent from Austria, three percent from Germany, and two percent from other European countries.
82 percent of the participating online shops operate in the B2C segment – many are increasingly relying on AI-based personalisation and omnichannel strategies.

49 percent of the surveyed online shops operate in the B2B sector, 37 percent also sell to end customers (B2C) in parallel. The boundaries between B2B and B2C are becoming increasingly blurred.

Only 9 per cent of the surveyed online shops engage in D2C sales—a decrease from 2024. Manufacturers increasingly combine D2C with marketplaces and B2B sales.
