Discover® Global Network increases its Acceptance in Switzerland
In collaboration with Payrexx, a well-established Swiss payment provider, Discover® Global Network is expanding its acceptance in Switzerland so cardholders can now shop at over 6'000 Payrexx enabled online retailers.
Discover Global Network offers its customers global reach: Headquartered in the USA, the payment network offers its cardholders acceptance in over 200 countries and territories. And thanks to Payrexx, acceptance in Switzerland is also increasing.
The payment provider, based in Thun, is firmly rooted in the Swiss national market. Over 60’000 merchants worldwide rely on Payrexx, including large enterprises as well as local SMEs, non-profit organizations and start-ups. Discover Global Network will use this foundation as a springboard to further establish itself in Switzerland.

It includes well-known options like Diners Club International® and Discover Card, as well as strategic alliances with over 25 domestic schemes, such as Troy from Turkey, Elo from Brazil and RuPay from India. With Payrexx’s support, Swiss merchants can now access this powerful global market.

Integrating Discover Global Network into Payrexx’s software is a multiphase process. At the end of October, the new payment method was activated for around 6,000 merchants, with further roll-outs and improvements planned for the coming year.
