How to activate the all-in-one solution from PayPal

1. Log in

The PayPal integration is activated directly in your Payrexx account. The first thing you need to do is log in to Payrexx.

2. Connect PayPal

Go to "Payment providers" > "Our recommendation" in the menu and find PayPal. Click on "Set up" to connect an existing account or create a new PayPal account.

3. Receive payments

As soon as your PayPal account is connected, customers can select the payment method in the checkout.

  • If you have PayPal integrated into your Payrexx account, customers can select PayPal as a payment method in the checkout. They will be forwarded directly to their PayPal account, where they have stored a debit or credit card or another payment method. They can select this and pay directly in your online store.

  • As a complete solution, PayPal includes all common credit and debit cards, like Amex, Mastercard, Visa or Discover. Mobile wallets such as Google Payâ„¢ and Apple Pay® are also included.

    Furthermore, many country-specific payment methods are part of the PayPal network, such as eps, Blik or MyBank. These help you to reach international customers and give your business a local character at the same time.

    Depending on the location of your PayPal account, you can also offer the popular payment methods Pay later and Pay in installments. The best thing about it: You don't have to wait for your money, because you receive it directly from PayPal via Payrexx.

  • Activating PayPal with Payrexx is quick and easy. As soon as you have logged into your Payrexx account, you can activate and configure PayPal as a third-party provider under "Payment processors". Now all you have to do is connect your PayPal account and customers can select PayPal as a payment method in the Payrexx checkout.

  • Yes, you can also use PayPal for your online store as a Swiss merchant. At least for one-off payments.

    Recurring payments (subscriptions) or tokenizations (for Pay later options), however, are only possible if your PayPal account is registered in an approved country. Unfortunately, Switzerland is not one of them.

    A list of all approved countries can be found in the documentation.

  • If your customers pay via PayPal, you will receive their money safely and promptly.

    The exact period depends on the payout rhythm that is set for your Payrexx account. For new Payrexx merchants, the payout interval is set to monthly by default, but this can also be changed to weekly or daily. Please contact the support team directly.

  • Creating and using a PayPal account is generally free of charge for merchants. However, transaction fees are charged for each payment. You can find out exactly what these fees are on the PayPal website.

    For your Payrexx account, you pay a monthly SaaS fee as well as additional costs for transactions made via PayPal integration. You can find a detailed breakdown of all costs on the Payrexx pricing page.

  • Both Payrexx and PayPal have the highest security standards to process your transactions with as little risk as possible.

    Specifically, Payrexx has the following security precautions:

    • Personal data, both yours and that of your customers, is stored on secure Swiss servers in compliance with the GDPR.

    • Payrexx is fully PCI DSS Level 1 certified. This is the highest global standard for payment data, developed in cooperation with several credit card organizations.

    • To ensure secure data transmission, Payrexx uses encryption protocols such as SLL (Secure Socket Layer) with 256-bit encryption.

    • The 3-D Secure process strengthens online payments with additional identification, minimizes fraud risks and chargebacks and ensures maximum security and customer authentication.

    PayPal on the other hand helps you handle the risk of fraudulent purchases through AI-powered fraud detection that monitors all transactions.
