Cryptocurrencies in E-Commerce - Payrexx Use Case Mountain Flair

This is Mountain Flair

Mountain Flair Apartments was founded in 2013 by tourism professionals Conradin De Giorgi and Sven Arquisch. The company markets and rents out over 100 holiday apartments on a weekly basis in the Engadin St. Moritz region. Other components include real estate sales and leasing.

Mountain Flair primarily uses the Payrexx Pages tool for the down payment of a holiday apartment booking, with individually configurable payment provider integrations and payment pages that can be designed in the corporate design. Customers can pay at Mountain Flair via Mastercard, Visa, Amex, Apple Pay, Google Pay, TWINT, as well as with digital currencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Utrust Token, and Stable Coins.

Why offer cryptocurrencies?

In the past, Mountain Flair only offered conventional bank transfers. However, this is no longer up-to-date, and that is why they also rely on digital payment options.

Sven Arquisch, CEO of Mountain Flair, believes:

“Cryptocurrencies and the blockchain are a disruptive technology that offers enormous potential and is most likely to revolutionize the Internet. By accepting cryptocurrencies, we can expand our target audience and offer our guests another payment option.”

By offering to pay with digital currencies, Mountain Flair can draw the attention of new customer groups—such as those from the internet and fintech sectors.

Cryptocurrencies and Security

Cryptocurrencies often have a negative reputation, although they actually rely on a completely transparent system where everyone is aware of every transaction. Nevertheless, many people are unsettled when it comes to cryptocurrencies. This is partly due to the price fluctuations of cryptocurrencies.

This so-called volatility risk is, however, excluded with the payment providers Utrust and Coinbase offered by Payrexx. Mountain Flair itself has integrated the payment provider Utrust, which automatically converts the digital currency into the stable coin USDC (US Dollar) after payment, thereby bearing no risk of devaluation. These stable coins USDC can then be easily exchanged into CHF and paid out to the bank account. Thus, there is no longer any volatility risk. Even with the payment provider Coinbase, you can bypass the volatility risk by simply accepting stable coins as payment directly.

Offering Cryptocurrencies with Payrexx

Payrexx offers a total of over 45 payment providers, which are configurable in parallel, and in the area of cryptocurrencies, the two payment providers Utrust and Coinbase are available.

The integration is neither associated with additional fees nor additional effort, which is why merchants can only benefit from it. Mountain Flair has understood this and can position itself as an innovative company thanks to the integration of Payrexx, recognizing and implementing digitalization trends.

Special thanks to Sven Arquisch, CEO of Mountain Flair, for the collaboration. We are pleased with the successful collaboration and the trust shown.
