The Swiss financial service provider Payrexx expands mobile payments in online shops with Samsung Pay

Through the partnership of Payrexx with Samsung, Payrexx users in Switzerland can seamlessly offer mobile payments via Samsung Pay. Samsung Pay is the mobile payment solution for Samsung Galaxy smartphones and the Galaxy Watch. The app offers worldwide, contactless payments in brick-and-mortar stores, as well as browser-based online and in-app payments in distance selling with the stored credit, prepaid, or debit card.

In recent years, there has been a noticeable increase in mobile payments. According to studies, smartphone payments are becoming increasingly common in both stationary and online retail and are expected to gain significant importance in the future. A survey on the preferred payment method for online purchases in Switzerland showed that 51% of respondents prefer mobile payment.

The first Payrexx merchants are already benefiting from the mobile payment solution

Among Payrexx users, the availability of Samsung Pay is met with great interest. The first 100 merchants have already activated the new payment method, including Parking Luzern.

The website of Parking Luzern offers various options around parking in the city of Lucerne. Not only can all available parking garages and their occupancies be viewed, but a comprehensive range of different parking variants is also offered. To facilitate online payments of the “Luzerner Parkkarte,” Parking Luzern relies on the payment solution from Payrexx, which offers the most common payment methods including Samsung Pay from a single source.

“Providing the most popular payment methods not only facilitates the completion of purchases but also makes them significantly more attractive.”

— Etienne Bucher, Director of Tiefgarage Bahnhofplatz AG, Lucerne.

How to pay with Samsung Pay

This is done securely via fingerprint or PIN; and the purchase is completed in seconds. For paying for online purchases with Samsung Pay, no further payment data is needed. With two-factor authentication, tokenization, and encrypted transmission, customer information remains protected. Besides tokenization, Samsung Pay also supports pre-authorization.
